Asus 1001HA netbook – same specs, new outfit
Finally the guys from Asus decided to turn their ears to the so many of us complaining about the glossy exterior of their netbook lines, and the first step is the new Asus 1001HA.
The 1001HA is in fact a 10″ netbook identical in specs and features to the well known 1005HA we tested earlier, but with a new outfit: one that tries to copy carbon fiber’s looks. In fact, it just tries as the end result doesn’t seem to be quite the best, as you can see from some of these pictures of the 1001HA from Netbookitalia.it .That’s just the brown version, hopefully the white/black ones will look more appealing.

Asus 1001HA - new exterior, same specs
Still, the new exterior is better than the one before in terms of scratches and fingerprints resistance, so that’s a nice addition for the EEE PC line. More when I’ll get my hands on this Asus 1001HA, hopefully very soon.
Update: This device has been discontinued, but there is a new version, the EEE PC 1001P with better hardware, better battery life (up to 11 hours) and the same matte case. Plus,l it only costs $299 and is available in a couple of different colors. I’d advice you to read more about it in my review of the 1001P series.
