Customizable HP Mini 1101 now available but with a high price tag
We all know HP offers a decent netbook called Mini 1101. It started shipping earlier this year and reviews were Ok. We’re talking after-all about a mainstream device with a price starting from $329. Or at least that’s what we were talking before today, when the customizable versions were announced and prices jumped sky high.
For the base version of the HP Mini 1101 you get a 10.1″ screen 160 GB HDD, Intel Atom CP 1 GB of RAM and a 3 Cell Battery . All these with an affordable price tag of just $329. The version with an integrated 3G module would cost you another 100 bucks. These two are the only pre-configured versions available for now.
But when we’re talking about the pre-configured versions, prices start from ~400 US for the base model and can go up to $600 once you added options like a 3G module, 32 GB SSD storage drive or a 6 cell battery. And we believe the end product is very pricey. Cause how else would you name a products that’s indentical with the $329 pre-configured configuration but has a 6 Cell Battery and costs ~200 bucks more?

Customizable options are ridiculous expensive on the HP Mini 1101
Thus, i doubt HP would sell too many customized HP Minis 1101 and they should work on putting on the market a couple fo pre-configured models with these upgrades. This way, their product would remain competitive in the netbook segment. Or at least they should focus more on the new announce 10″ line that should go live at the end of the year.
