HP TouchSmart tm2 tablet PC – simply brilliant
If you got tired of the plain and dull netbooks with their poor build quality and performances, than check out this baby: the 12.1 inch convertible tablet PC from HP, called TouchSmart tm2 .It’s in fact the latest version of the series, brand new and redesigned by HP for a more funky look. And the result… well, pictures speak for themselves.

HP tm2 looks amazing and is top notch in terms of build quality
On the inside there’s some powerful hardware: Intel Core 2 Duo processors, up to 4 GB of RAM, up to 500 GB hard-drives (or SSD drives options) plus ATI Mobile Graphics . All these will ensure quite some performance levels and will allow you to easily complete all the tasks you might need to.
But there’s more: HP planted a 6 Cell battery on the tm2 that is expected to offer up to 9 hours of battery life. They will probably be like 5-6 in practice, but still, considering the hardware, that’s a lot.
And more: as part of the TouchSmart line, the 12.1 inch display is capacitive and supports multi-touch gestures. It’s quite lively and responsive, you can see it in action in this clip from Engadget.
And even more: the specially customed Windows interface used on the device simply looks brilliant and is also intuitive and quite easy to use. Add this to the fact that the device comes bundled with lots of software.

Touch adapted interface
And i could keep writing for a couple of pages about the nice things this HP gets on the table.
All in one, i can say that i would really wish to give this one a live spin. Still, I’m almost certain i will never get it on my test bench. As for buying it, well… prices will start from $949, thus a top version will probably go for more than $1500. Expect it in stores from January 17th.
If you can afford it, this HP TouchSmart tm2 is definitely a jewel and won’t disappoint.
