Netbook killers from Toshiba: T115/T135 CULV powered devices

More and more producers offer portable notebooks with CULV processors lately. It’s not time for Toshiba to show us their latest devices:

• the 11.6 inch version, sold as Toshiba T115 in US
• the 13.3 inch one, sold as Toshiba T135 in US

The bigger notebook will boost a dual core CPU, 4 GB of RAM, 500 GB hard-drive and will probably be quite a competition for devices like the Asus UL30A or the Acer Aspire 3810T . The smaller one will compete directly with Atom powered netbooks like the Asus 1101aHA, but will bring a more powerful Celeron single core processor, 3 GB of RAM and 250 GB hard-drive.Wi-fi n, Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI output, all these features will be there too. And add an expected battery life of up to 11 hours and you’ll get quite a competitive mix .

In terms of weight, the T115 will be around 3.1 pounds, while the T115 will be heavier, weighing around 3.5 pounds, both well inside their class limits.

Both these notebooks will come with Windows 7 and will be available on the US market from October 22nd. Prices are expected to start from $449 for the 11.6 inch T115 and from $599 for the 13.3 inch T135. I’m just waiting to see what kind of hardware Toshiba will squeeze in their devices for this kind of money, cause the prices are actually very good (but i expect poorer specs than the one above for the base models).
