New Asus 1005PE – updated with a matte case
As we’re waiting for the new Asus EEE PC netbooks showcased at CeBIT to enter the market, Asus prepares an updated version for their 1005PE device, finally with a matte case. Weeeheee! 
Besides that, not much has changed. Overall body aspect remains the same, and so are the specs inside: 1.66 GHz N450 Atom CPU, 1 GB of memory, 250 GB storage drive (+500 EEE storage online), Wi-fi N+Bluetooth, Windows 7 Starter OS and up to 14 hours battery life.
You can see a couple of photos of the new device below, and as you might reckon, it borrows the same case as their other matte mini laptop in the 10 inch class, the Asus 1001P. So, i guess we’ll have to wait a little bit for the aluminum finish, but it should be here by summer. Also, from these pictures, it seems like the interior palm rest surface is still glossy, only the exterior casing being changed.

The new Asus is available on Amazon and costs $389 . Only in black for now and only as pre-order. So stay tuned for more info, I’ll update once i starts shipping.
