You can now configure and preoder your Alienware M11x
We already told you about the 11.6 inch portable gaming netbooks from Alienware, the M11x, and its expected price of $799. Well, you can preoder it now and receive it after the 1-st of march.
Starting price for the Alienware “netbook” is 799$, like i told you, and you get a Pentium SU4100CPU single core processor, 2GB DDR II RAM and only a 160GB HDD. But if you add 100$ more you can receive the Alienware M11x with a Core 2 Duo SU7300 CPU, which is faster. Also, you can add quite a couple of other upgrades, but all with add to the price:
- extra 2 GB of RAM ($50) or extra 6 for a total of 8 GB in dual channel ($350)
- bigger 500 GB storage drive ($150) or just a 250 GB one ($50)
- external DVD writer ($100)
- Bluetooth ($20)
But, choosing the color between Cosmic Black and Lunar Silver is free
(Yey!)
Anyway, as expected, a decently configured Alienware M11x will quite jump the $1000 margin. And while $799 for a portable gaming laptop might sound nice, at 1000 bucks, i for one would rather choose something else.
Anyway, feel free to play along with the configuration options on Dell’s site. And if you like the product, remember that you can preorder it right now and have it on your desk in just a month.
